PROMOTING MUSIC EDUCATION FOR PEACE AND HARMONY

"It was by music that the ancient kings gave elegant expression to their joy. By their armies and axes they gave the same to their anger." - Chinese philosopher Confucius (551-479 B.C.)

OZZMUSIC.NET, a mini music portal is the upgraded version of ozzguitar.com and has been online since March, 2007 to promote music education and to encourage thousands of young guitarists and musicians who have great passion for music and intend to pursue music as a career.

Written music is willingly or unwillingly neglected here because of the lack of music schools and printed music books. Music books published elsewhere are beyond the reach of many because of the currency rate of our country.

Despite these drawbacks, guitar playing has been tremendously popular among the youths in Nepal for the past few years. The FREE lessons offered in OZZMUSIC.NET would certainly be a boon to thousands of interested beginners to further develop their interest and knowledge in guitar and music as a whole and be the active members in promoting music education in this part of the world.

One of the main purposes of this site is to promote written Nepalese music and songs. Transcriptions of some Nepalese folk, traditional and contemporary music and songs posted in the Nepalese music page are just the beginning to meet this purpose. More transcriptions of different genres of Nepalese music and songs will be added every month. The Nepalese page would certainly be an advantage to those wishing to learn Nepalese music not only from Nepal, but also from all over the world.

Obviously, your support always comes in the first place in order to further develop the lessons and other materials, and above all, to keep this site running for many many years to come.

Music, art and literature would be the driving forces to restore peace and harmony at this time in Nepal where so much has been shattered due to the political conflict for more than a decade.

"We spend our days waiting for the ideal path to appear in front of us. But what we forget is that, paths are made by walking, not by waiting." - Anonymous

PROMOTE MUSIC EDUCATION AND SHARE YOUR KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS WITH THE YOUNGER GENERATION AND MAKE THEM UNDERSTAND AND FEEL THE AESTHETIC VALUE OF ART, MUSIC AND LITERATURE.
