I looked over your website and was very impressed with the content and presentation. I will certainly pass along your site to students. The more exposure and practice of music fundamentals will certainly strengthen students’ musicianship skills. I primarily teach jazz guitar. I also feel it is important to teach music fundamentals to students so they can understand and communicate in the music language. On my website, I have a Guitar Tips Archive with some pdf and mp3 downloads that I send out each month. If there is anything there that you like or think that your students can use feel free to pass it along. If you are looking for a specific jazz or contemporary topic or exercise let me know. I'll see what I can come up with. Good luck and keep up the good work too! All the best - Tim Bedner,

The guitar teaching website that you have created is beautiful and appears to be very thorough. In fact, this is what I have wished to do and not had time. I hope that you will permit us to make some links to your site? There is a great deal of very useful material. Congratulations on all the hard work and time this must have required. We teach our students each individually what we consider to be appropriate for them, and of course, a great deal of our teaching material is very similar to yours. We teach fundamental scale and chord theory and then we go on to teach improvisation. We also teach basic classical guitar technique, and reading music. P.S.> I have looked over most of your website, and I don't see anything to complain about! You should be very happy with what you have created. I don't see, at the moment, anything else to suggest specifically for upgrading the lessons. Jack from Guitar Vacation Retreats, Mexico.

Congratulations on launching your site! It seems to be very comprehensive. I also like your list of reference books. There are two other books that I have used... "Modern Method for Guitar" series by William Leavitt, published by Berklee Music Press, and "Hal Leonard Guitar Method" by W. Schmid and G. Koch, Hal Leonard publishing. The latter is very similar to the Belwin series by Aaron Shearer which is listed on your site. One method that I've recently checked out and started using with older students is set out in a series called "fret board logic". It doesn't deal with any of the basics like reading and rhythm but check it out if you get the chance... you might want to incorporate some of that too... You've done a great job! If you have any more questions, I would be happy to help whenever I can. How are things going in Nepal, politically speaking? I understand your country has gone through many changes. I would like to visit your country in the next few years. Have a great day! Mark McEwing, Canada

Nice guitar instructional site. You did a good job covering an introduction to a lot of good concepts and terminology. Nice work on the lesson pages. The graphics look great I'll check back when I have more time to spend here, but it really looks like a good site! Thanks. Ted,

Hey Durga, I think that the site is very cool, and very informative. I like it a lot. I love all the explanations put in the site, Tuning, Tab, and Theory. Good for Beginners to Advanced. The only thing that I could say might make the site better, is the overall graphic appeal, and also the use of some better pictures. The ones that are strictly informative are good like the piano finger for tuning. However, other places like where there's mainly textual content, that’s some good pictures would spice up the appeal of the site. Anyways, I hope that helps you. I worked on a little tuner for guitar for flash if you would like to use it in your site you’re welcome too. -Michael

Hi Durga, You have put in a lot of effort into the website. First level ... great job. Of course, music is far too vast to put into one website. Perhaps a few sample MIDI better still MP3's to provoke people into what the CG is about, what it sounds like would help. Of course, youtube.com is fantastic. There are some SERIOUSLY TALENTED people out there in the world. Location / contact details as below. Maybe if you are in Bangalore .... I help with the St. Marks Music Academy ... and also a part of the Bangalore Classical Guitar Society. Can stay in touch. Keep it going! With warm wishes, Casper Abraham / Bangalore INDIA based / 91 (India) 98450-61870

Hello Durga, Excellent website! A great resource for the beginner. I would like to mention a book I have used to great success with beginning classical guitar students. It's the Frederick Noad First Book for the Guitar series. (Different from Solo Guitar Playing and other more well-known Noad books.) The First Book series gradually has the student learning to read music on the guitar through student/teach duets, and then gradually interspersing increasingly complex solo pieces. You might check that out. All best to you and your endeavors! Michael Fogler
