FEEDBACK
The following remarks are made for the FREE lessons offered in my previous site www.ozzguitar.com, These encouraging comments made by the experienced and enlightened musicians / guitarists living in different parts of the globe drove me further to upgrade and develop the site to promote music education - especially guitar music to the interested beginners in this part of the world.

Hi Durga, I just quickly glanced over your website and liked what I saw. I applaud you in your effort to bring music instruction to those who can't afford it otherwise. I will review it in more detail and give you any input I can come up with. Meanwhile, stay well. Tony.

Hi, Where in Nepal are you? I'm sure even finding guitars would be hard there from my past experience. But the guitar is a world wide instrument, almost. I like the effort you have put into your site. Don't forget that the instrument is a voice and if we create that connection early to our own voice, learning becomes a joy of expression and not merely a quest for technical expertise. Solfeggio is a technique for leaning to play that used to be standard practice. And if you had only your guitar and your voice, you could still make music. Your site is very good and you can't go wrong with Mel Bay. There is nothing like a good teacher to energize that material and focus a students’ effort for the most progress. Please keep up the good work. I wish you the best of luck. Music has made my life an enjoyable journey. Regards, Tim

Durga, I'm in Chicago, Illinois, USA. I've been primarily a keyboardist but picked up the guitar again when my daughter asked me to teach. She wanted to play rock but I wanted to give her a little background in classical guitar first. This really inspired me to take guitar more seriously. 3 years later, I'm doing a lot more teaching and studying as well. Please feel free to stay in touch. I'll be sure to check out your website later this weekend. Regards, Rodney from US

Hello Durga, Your website is lovely! I have to admit that I had to look up Kathmandu to find out where it was, though I did remember that Cat Stevens wrote a song called that. I knew where Nepal was, but did not know the name of the capital. Your English is wonderful. What language do you normally speak? Did you learn English there? I am assuming that you don't know anything at all about me. In the August issue of the Mel Bay webzine for guitar is an article I wrote about my students since Katrina. It's very nice to hear from teachers around the country and around the world. Sometimes I feel very isolated, and it's nice to be reminded that other people are working towards some of the same goals, and I'm not truly alone. Thanks again. Ln.

Dear Ojha, Very interesting. I will take time to look at your site in more detail. I am employed full time as a classroom school teacher, and I teach guitar as a sideline. I also host a songwriting group, and perform original and cover tunes in several bands. I am home on leave,(having broke my ankle in Ireland on Aug. 29), until Nov. 29, so I have time to look at your website and give you more feedback in the coming days. I also would like to tell you about a concept I am working on for a guitar book. I am meeting some people for dinner shortly, so I can't get into it right now. Thanks! Dave Kleiner

Dear Durga, I looked at your site and it has some good information and is set up in a methodical way. I hope you keep up the good work. Any way that music can be promoted is a good thing. Especially in an age, that at least here in America music is more about making money than the art. I actually play and teach mandolin, but borrow some from guitar, and of course music is music. My main focus is on Jazz standards played in the chord melody style, but have my own music as well. I hope to someday learn classical. I also have written and self published a Scales and Modes book for mandolin available in PDF format. There is information on my Myspace page on how to order. If you know of any mandolin players that might be interested please let them know of it's availability. Thanks again. God bless you, Terry
