MUSIC - the essence & the efficacy
 Durga OjhaViewed: 335

Music is one of the best art forms that has been experienced, practiced and nurtured in every known society since time immemorial. From the primitive way of living to the present complexity of human life burdened with envy, jealousy, material wants and unwanted "necessary evils" , music has comforted human mind and heart to the best possible extent.

Basically an aural art of communication - music, like other forms of art, is an essential part of the "human experiences.". Music plays a crucial role in rituals, ceremonies, gatherings and events of religious, festive, sporting or even political. Like any other art forms, music can express our feelings, emotions and thoughts in terms of sound (using different musical instruments with rhythms ) and literature (using golden lyrical words ) combined together. A piece of good music can solace our stress that crop up regularly in this mundane life, and eventually makes us aware of the colorful existence of human life.

A clear understanding and appreciation of music can be instrumental to broaden our character and deepen the chemistry between ourselves and those around us. In the educational institutions of many developed countries, music has been added as an integral subject in the curriculum and has thus become a boon in shaping the children's character, personality and potential to a broader perspective by providing them with invaluable "aesthetic experiences" - that helps in building a healthy society and ultimately paving the way for "spiritual quest".

Music has been an important subject of interest to psychologists working on various areas such as language, memory, learning, perception, sensation, behavior, emotion, skill, intelligence, education, development, sociology, neuro-physiology, and therapy. Researches have shown that music is even a boon for brooding animals and growing plants.

In a nutshell, music affects our social lives or living styles in so many different ways no matter what type of music we play or enjoy listening to.
